A tough blow for Visma | Lease a Bike who will have to do without Victor Campenaerts for several weeks. The Belgian rider fell on Tuesday at the end of the second stage, crossed the finish line but was then forced to seek medical attention.
Further examinations revealed a small shoulder fracture, as announced by the Dutch team in a statement. Campenaerts will therefore be forced to miss the Ardennes classics that were in his program.
"I will have to dedicate the next few weeks to rehabilitation. On the doctor's advice, I cannot ride on the road, but will have to limit myself to riding on rollers," explained the rider, for whom a return date has not yet been hypothesized but who will certainly aim to prepare as best as possible for the Tour de France where he is expected to ride alongside Jonas Vigegaard.
