The Paris-Nice organizers have carefully monitored the meteorological conditions in the Maritime Alps department throughout the week. These conditions remain unfavorable for Saturday, particularly at higher elevations. To ensure rider safety, the decision to modify the stage 7 route was made in agreement with the city of Nice, the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur, the Maritime Alps prefecture, and in consultation with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) commissaires panel, as well as team and rider representatives (A.I.G.C.P, C.P.A).
The finish in Auron remains unchanged, but the safety conditions for tackling the Col de la Colmiane and especially its subsequent descent are not satisfactory.
Thus, riders will skip the Côte de Belvédère and the Col de La Colmiane and will go directly after 55.8 km, continuing through the Var Valley and then the Tinée Valley.
They will rejoin the originally planned route just before Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée for the last 32.5 km of this stage.
Stage 7 will be 109.3 kilometers long instead of 147.8 kilometers.
