The April 21, 2025 edition promises to be another memorable one for the Giro del Belvedere: there will be 35 teams at the start, with 19 coming from abroad representing 15 countries. Never before has the Easter Monday Classic been so international, testament to the prestige achieved by the event beyond national borders.
Another striking statistic is the number of Continental teams, 24, expected on the starting line in Villa di Cordignano, representing the best of the Under 23 category. A true Spring World Championship, whose international dimension becomes clear when listing the countries involved, from Mexico to Australia, from the United Arab Emirates to Kazakhstan, passing through a large number of European teams: 9 'Old Continent' nations represented besides Italy, with Germany bringing 4 teams.
At the forefront are the reigning champions UAE Team Emirates Gen-Z, victorious in 2024 thanks to Slovenian Gal Glivar, perfectly launched on the final straight by his teammate Pablo Torres. Chasing success will be various Development teams from World Tour teams, starting - as often happens among the Elite - with Visma | Lease a Bike, followed by Red Bull - Bora - hansgrohe, Bahrain Victorious, Hagens Bermans Jayco, XDS Astana and Lotto Kern-Haus PSD Bank.
Among the best opportunities for Italian teams is the Professional formation VF Group – Bardiani CSF – Faizan, along with Continental teams Biesse Carrera Premac, UC Trevigiani - Energiapura Marchiol, MHB Bank Ballan CSB and Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna. The last two, moreover, are coming off last year's podium with Donati and Crescioli, and will want to at least confirm their excellent result.
To win the 86th edition of the Easter Monday Classic, riders must tame the 168 km course with 2085 meters of positive elevation gain, confirmed after the great success of 2024. The start includes the classic 8 initial laps of Conche, followed by 5 passages on the Piai della Vigna climb (500 meters at 9% with a peak at 15%), before entering the final circuit characterized by the Montaner climb (1.5 km at 12%) and Via delle Longhe (500 meters at 12% with a peak at 17%).
