A winner, the 2024 Lazio regional champion Pietro Scottoni from Team Vangi Il Pirata, skillful and intelligent in the 4th Paolo Baicchi Memorial on the Assi Circuit in Calenzano. Scottoni was excellent, but the collective work of the team was also crucial, with 4 athletes from the Florence-based team directed by Matteo Berti finishing in the top five. A crushing success on home roads, with the previously considered race favorite, Tuscan champion Del Cucina, finishing second. He lacked support from his teammates when Scottoni and Parigi made their decisive move. Parigi was eventually dropped by the Lazio rider, who won with about twenty meters advantage over the extended group. The race, organized by Pol. Virtus VII Miglio under president Paolo Traversi and thanks to Riccardo and Tommaso Baicchi who wanted to remember their passionate father, saw 70 riders start with 22 laps of a hilly circuit. The challenging course caused half the participants to abandon, also because the average speed was high from the first kilometers. The most significant breakaway in the first part involved Luci, Petrolati, Bonaiuti, and Mazzarello. Later, Gaggioli, Cianti, Nicoloso, Tarallo, Del Cucina, and Serangeli also tried to break away. The decisive moment came in the final lap with Parigi and Scottoni as protagonists. On the uphill section 600 meters from the finish, Scottoni broke free from his breakaway companion. As the group pressed closer and closer, the Lazio rider managed to maintain a minimal advantage, while his teammates Bolognesi, Sgherri, and Petrolati completed the triumph of team president Fabrizio Vangi's team. Before the start, a minute of silence was observed to remember Ennio Bongiorni, a well-known national cycling personality from Massa, who passed away during the night. To Ennio's family, the most heartfelt condolences from the entire national cycling community.
