After the good experiences of the Trofeo Laigueglia and Croatia, the team's riders are set to race in 2 events on Sunday. Looking back at the 62nd Trofeo Laigueglia, a notable performance was that of Lorenzo Nespoli, who was long in the breakaway. A move that animated the race and saw a group of attackers out front for 130 kilometers, with excellent TV coverage on RAI Sport and international Eurosport digital channels.
The Ligurian race saw Diego Bracalente withdraw, knocked out by a fever attack. The same situation occurred with Edoardo Cipollini. Both riders are already on the road to recovery.
Now the team returns to work with a high-altitude training camp. Seven climbers have been engaged since yesterday on Mount Etna, where an important work block will be held in preparation for the end-of-month races. Supporting the athletes are trainer Dario Giovine and DS Davide Martinelli.
On Sunday, races will be held in Central Italy, in Macerata, and in Croatia, in Poreč. In Macerata, led by Davide Martinelli, will be: Samuel Quaranta, Gabriele Casalini, Balog Zsombor, Matteo Fiorin, and Enrico Simoni. For Hungarian Zsombor and Trentino Simoni, this marks their seasonal debut.
Sunday will also see a race in Poreč, with Flavio Miozzo in the team car. With him: Marc Valent (coming from the Tenerife training camp, making his seasonal debut), Barnabas Vas (first race after the fall, with the wrist injury proving less serious than expected), Luca Cretti, Edo Cipollini, Christian Bagatin, and Matteo Ambrosini.
