TREVIGIANI WARMS UP THE ENGINES, THE 2025 SEASON KICKS OFF ON SATURDAY

CONTINENTAL | 19/02/2025 | 08:02

The Uc Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol version 2025, returned to Continental Team, is composed of 13 athletes covering almost all regions up to central Italy.

There are three 22-year-olds (though not all have yet turned 22 except Griggion and Di Bernardo): Raffaele Mosca, Riccardo Perani and Simone Griggion. Four 21-year-olds: Marco Di Bernardo, Luca Rosa, Lorenzo Montanari and Alessandro Da Ros. Four 20-year-olds: Luca Fraticelli and three Tommaso: Bambagioni, Cafueri and Farsetti. Rounding out the team are two promising first-year riders, not yet 19, both from Treviso: Riccardo Fabbro and Samuele Massolin.

Perani and Griggion have already won wearing the Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol jersey, and with Di Bernardo and Rosa they form the backbone of last year's team. The others have more or less all won in youth categories. Raffaele Mosca from Todi has been azzurro multiple times and, in the blue jersey, rode the 2024 Giro Next Gen: city manager Marino Amadori has called him for several one-day races. Who knows if the Umbrian athlete might not make his mark with the national colors this year, perhaps even in international events.

Staying on the National team theme, two other riders have already worn the blue jersey: Tommaso Cafueri in cyclocross, and Treviso native Riccardo Fabbro at last year's junior European championships.

All other athletes are new to the team of president Ettore Renato Barzi who has been leading the Porta San Tomaso society since November 2013. The vice president is Roberto Zanatta, a former athlete and Trevigiani council member. Starting with the two Tuscan Tommaso - Bambagioni and Farsetti - who have already participated in some professional races. Luca Fraticelli arrives from Fano, white jersey in the 2024 Giro del Veneto, from nearby Romagna (Ravenna) comes the "chef" Lorenzo Montanari. Remaining are the two Treviso natives Alessandro Da Ros from Cordignano, destined to make a quality leap, and Samuele Massolin from Ponzano Veneto who has already shown his qualities as a junior. Now things get serious.

Under the supervision of general manager Luciano Marton, the technical staff is top-notch: the team directors are Filippo Rocchetti, Mauro Busato, former quality amateur riders, and ex-professional Mirco Lorenzetto, supported by mechanics Esterino Scomparin and Gabriele Donadi, known as "Golden Allen Key". Technical consultant Giuseppe Lorenzetto, doctor Gianantonio Fanton. Accompanying staff are Diego Polese and Nicolò Di Bernardo, Marco's brother, who also raced with Trevigiani in the 2023 season.

The athletes (not all) come from a long training camp at the foot of Mount Etna and are ready for the first racing weekend at Coppa San Geo on Saturday, February 22 (we're waiting for Brescian Riccardo Perani, local favorite, eighth last year), at Firenze-Empoli and on Sunday 23rd at Fucecchio where Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol won twice in the last two years in 2023 with Immanuel D'Aniello and Federico Guzzo, accompanied by Matteo Zurlo and Misano where we await fast wheels like Riccardo Fabbro.

"Once again we find ourselves in the heart of Treviso, surrounded by friends and supporters, to toast a new season," declares president Ettore Renato Barzi. "Renewal and high-level competitiveness will be our keywords for 2025. We have invested in this new group of athletes and technicians with the same enthusiasm that accompanied us in 2024, a year full of satisfaction and victories. All this was possible thanks to the synergy with Alberto Olivetto of Energiapura, the Marchiol families, and the new entry Bottecchia, as well as all our sponsors. Their support is the engine that allows us to continue our project with ambition and dedication."

A story within a story is Trevigiani with Cicli Bottecchia: 112 years of races, champions and managers, and the first great stage race athlete in Italy, Ottavio Bottecchia, who won two consecutive Tours de France, one of which marks its hundredth anniversary (1925), the second Grande Boucle. The team for the 2025 season will race with Aerospace from Bottecchia Cicli, an ultra-fast road aero bike with disc brakes and Internal Routing Cables technology. The carbon aero frame guarantees maximum aerodynamics, total integration and unique ergonomics, perfect for competitions. The design is completely customized for Uc Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol in the team's white and blue colors.

Space was also given to the presentation of the 108th edition of "La Popolarissima", one of the most anticipated races in the national cycling calendar, scheduled for Sunday, March 16, 2025. Also this year, collaboration with Carla Pinarello's family will allow the reproduction of the fourth Giovanni Pinarello Memorial. Carla Pinarello: "We are honored to be able to award the Popolarissima winner for the fourth consecutive year with the trophy in memory of my grandfather; I want to thank Trevigiani again for the opportunity to remember Nani."
