The organization of the second and final Para-Cycling World Cup 2025 event has officially begun. The international competition, which will bring athletes from five continents to the territory, was officially presented to the press in the City Hall meeting room of Maniago.
The second Para-Cycling World Cup will take place from May 15 to 18 in Maniago and Montereale Valcellina in western Friuli. The first two days will be dedicated to time trial races, with the last two featuring line races and the final Team Relay event.
The organization was assigned by UCI jointly with the cycling societies Cellina Bike and Fontanafredda, with the Local Organizing Committee led by Nevio Alzetta.
There is great anticipation for the sporting event that last year brought over 1,300 people to the area, including athletes and staff. It's worth noting that the Para-Cycling World Cup will stop in Maniago for the fifth time (previous events in 2015, 2017, 2023, and 2024), in addition to the 2018 World Championships.
Umberto Scarabello (Mayor of Maniago): "Once again, our territory has been recognized for its capabilities and reliability. We are ready to renew our hospitality, involving all local entities."
Igor Alzetta (Mayor of Montereale Valcellina): "The World Cup is a great opportunity to create synergy and enhance our territory. It will be an event we will all remember."
Giuliano Cescutti (President of the Western Prealps Mountain Community): "Our organization confirms support for the organizing machine, convinced that the World Cup will bring tourist flows to be maximized."
Nevio Alzetta (President of the Local Organizing Committee): "We will reproduce the strong synergy between the communities of Maniago and Montereale Valcellina, trying to involve the populations in paying maximum attention to safety during the event. Associations, volunteering, commerce, culture, and the school world will all find their protagonist space in this great operation that is not just sporting. UCI technicians are verifying the quality of the routes. With the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and important private sponsors, we will be ready to welcome athletes from 50 different countries. A special thanks goes to Stefano Bandolin, vice-president of Federciclismo and former regional FCI committee president, for his decisive commitment."
Raffaele Padrone (President of the Pordenone Provincial FCI Committee): "The World Cup will once again offer important media coverage for the territory and our beloved sport."
Gilberto Pittarella (President of Fontanafredda Cycling Society): "We have honorably seized the opportunity to handle the technical and administrative aspects of such a prestigious event. From a technical standpoint, the machine is already in motion to ensure the perfect success of the sporting event."
Mauro Francescon (President of Cellina Bike): "It's a beautiful challenge that we have taken on with passion and enthusiasm."
