Growth is the key word used in the greeting by President Carlo Palandri. A great novelty coming from the province of Lucca and from the Gragnano Sporting Club, which has been in cycling for 32 years, the result of the passion and commitment of its president. After the 2023 season that saw the team at the top nationally, and the 2024 season where efforts were concentrated on developing the Under 23 youth team with one victory and numerous placements, the society has announced its news. In 2025, Gragnano Sporting Club will be part of the Continental Teams, with a group of 12 athletes under the guidance of two established coaches like Marcello Massini and Alberto Conti, who will work to prepare the riders for a calendar of National and International races together with the entire society staff, which includes, besides President Carlo Palandri, the historic collaborators: Betti, Pippi, Palandri Marino, Di Paola, Marchini, Tuccori, Celoni, plus mechanic Del Carlo. The team consists of the confirmed Boschi Lorenzo, Cozzani Piergiorgio, Creatini Matteo, Ninci Alessio, Rossi Giairo (all Under 23). The new additions will be U23 Piccini Mattia and Bufalini Davide and the élite riders Cataldo Lorenzo, Chiarucci Andrea (both returning to Gragnano), De Totto Andrea, Lucca Simone, Rigatti Tommaso.
A balanced team to carry out a season aiming for important objectives in memory of the late collaborator Andrea Marinari, who represented the La Seggiola brand in the society, who died following a sudden illness last June. Important is the help of companies that enthusiastically accepted this new project, led by La Seggiola, Granducato Service, Tirrena Bitumi, Continental, and others. Bicycles by Olmo, technical clothing from the historic and appreciated Natali Sport Wear.
The debut will be on Saturday, February 22nd in the Firenze-Empoli and Coppa San Geo, while the first international outing is planned for late March in Slovenia at the GP Adria. The Gragnano Sporting Club was presented as usual at the Country-Palo Alto Hotel in Gragnano, with the presence of Capannori Mayor Giordano Del Chiaro with Vice Mayor Matteo Francesconi, Lucca's Sports Councilor Fabio Barsanti, and for cycling, national councilor Laura Puccetti, Board of Auditors President Simone Mannelli, Tuscany Regional Committee President Luca Menichetti along with Lucca Provincial Committee President Pierluigi Castellani.
