A Clasica Jaen raced as a protagonist alongside all his teammates - and crowned by Michal Kwiatkowski's success - then the crash of a group of about ten riders and he, Egan Bernal, left on the ground. Immediate transport of the Colombian rider to the hospital, although in these cases both riders and doctors immediately understand what has happened: collarbone fracture.
A few hours pass and here comes the official news from the Ineos Grenadiers social media: "After a careful evaluation at the hospital this evening, following the incident at #ClasicaJaen, Egan has been diagnosed with a collarbone fracture. He will continue to be carefully treated by our medical team and a comprehensive recovery plan will be studied to facilitate his return to training and racing".
A real setback for Bernal, who has just won both Colombian championships and was ready to be a protagonist of the season in Europe, with the Giro d'Italia in his sights. There is time to recover, even if Egan really did not need this new obstacle.
