She is a true citizen of the world, in the literal and positive sense of the term, Pascale Lora Schyns, with polymorphic interests and diversified activities in different sectors, with particular regard to literature, poetry, theater, and committed cultural curiosity.
And among these interests, her protean work in the world of cycling, in positions of growing responsibility, is fully included, especially in the article on this site from May 2018, here reproposed. A story that has continued - and continues - to this day. Her suitcase is always ready, just like her desire to know and experience always new adventures.
Friday, February 14, 2024, at 5 PM, Pascale Lora Schyns will present in Rome, at Carré Monti – Via Giovanni Lanza 132 – her recent literary work, the novel "Le dernier mouchoir de Charles Aznavour" (the title in Italian is "The Last Handkerchief of Charles Aznavour"). It is a tribute dedicated to the great Parisian artist by Pascale, who closely followed many phases of the artist's career, born in Paris in 1924 to a family of Armenian origin, universally known for his over seventy-year artistic activity with his extraordinary vibrant voice, his qualities as an artist and a well-rounded cultural figure who was also appreciated for his performances on stage and film sets. And thanks to his cultural background, he could clearly express himself - speaking and/or singing - in multiple languages. He passed away in France in 2018.
And the Rome appointment, following others, will be an opportunity for the author to recall the facts, emotions, and connections she personally experienced in various tours around the world with a true "giant", beyond his small physical stature, of universal relevance, fame, and significance.
And the novel's title refers to Aznavour's habit of throwing the handkerchief he used to hold on stage into the audience.
