As the world championship in France approaches, Stefano Viezzi sends a clear signal to his rivals. With a third place in the final race of the U23 Cyclocross World Cup, the Friulian from Alpecin Deceuninck now becomes a serious candidate for a medal in the world championship next Saturday (February 1st) in Lievin. Viezzi's growth was evident from his recent performances, and today he confirmed he is in ideal conditions to compete with the category's strongest riders. First and foremost, the reigning champion Tibor Del Grosso, Dutch and his teammate at Alpecin Deceuninck, who won in Hoogerheide by a significant margin, leaving the Frenchman Sparfel 20" behind and an excellent Viezzi 21" back, marking his first World Cup podium.
