It's time for the Cyclocross World Cup for Rebecca Gariboldi! With five victories and the national silver medal behind her, the Brianza native aims to do well in the last two rounds of the world ranking for the women's elite category. On the eve of the Massmechelen challenge being raced today in Belgium, Gariboldi will be at the start for her Ale Cycling Team and with the support of her teammate Eva Lechner.
"In these races, the first lap is enough to make a selection," explains Rebecca. "Keeping up with the Dutch and other competitors is no easy feat, but already holding the lead for at least a quarter of the race would be a success. There will be a battle right from the start. I'm experiencing a good moment of form and hope to gather something good in this weekend of races".
Gariboldi is an athlete to be admired for her determination and passion and how she tackles such devastating commitments. The idea of reaching the top fifteen is the objective of the Brianza native, whose best result in the Cup was 23rd place in Hulst (Netherlands) on December 21st of last year. The second appointment is scheduled for tomorrow in Hoogerheide, in the Netherlands. It is the last Cup test, and for the Lissone native, it is her first time on this circuit, which has already been the venue for world championships in 2009, 2014, and 2023. The Dutch match anticipates the world meeting in Lievin, France, by a week.
