SLOVENIA WANTS THE TOUR 2029, FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA AND VENETO ALSO DREAM IN YELLOW

There was a yellow variant in the presentation of the Giro d'Italia 108 last Monday evening in Rome. A trail leading to the nearby Slovenia with a view also in Friuli Venezia Giulia, if not in Veneto, you'll understand why later. The small nation, with two million inhabitants yet the first, Tadej Pogacar, and perhaps the fourth or fifth rider in the world, Primoz Roglic, along with a lot of talents eager to prove themselves, is negotiating with the French to host the grand start of the Tour de France 2029. In four years, for those who frequent sports business circles, that's nothing, it's practically the day after tomorrow because these things are planned and negotiated well in advance.
It was confirmed – between one photo and another with the mayors of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, protagonists of the 14th stage of the next Giro d'Italia and the project manager of the Fvg stages of the Giro, Paolo Urbani, who has a direct line with the regional president Massimiliano Fedriga – by Rok Lozej, essentially the man of Slovenian cycling dreams.
