The MBH Colpack Ballan CSB team is closing an important season while confidently preparing for future projects. Recently, Matteo Fiorin and Samuel Quaranta showcased their talents on the track in Zurich, earning a podium finish. Fiorin continues his racing schedule and is currently competing in the Grand Prix of Novo Mesto at the Olympic Centre, a venue notable for its impressive architecture.
Winter also brings cyclocross action. Lorenzo Masciarelli has been called up to the Italian national team by coach Daniele Pontoni to compete in the World Cup races in Hulst (Netherlands) and Zonhoven (Belgium). Meanwhile, Hungarian riders Abel Vas and Zsombor Tackas are participating in various international cyclocross events, collecting valuable points.
“A narrow course on Saturday will make a strong start essential,” Masciarelli noted. “Sunday’s course will be wider. I’ll start from the back because I don’t have international points, but my goal is a top 20 finish.”
Farewells
The 2025 season will see some riders depart the team. After three years, track specialist Davide Boscaro, from Padua, bids farewell as he transitions to focusing exclusively on velodrome racing and joins the Penitentiary Police. The team also says goodbye to Angelo Monister from Mantua and Leonardo Volpato.
“We deeply thank the riders leaving the team,” said team management. “Starting with Boscaro, who achieved great results with us. He was an extremely professional athlete, exceptional at leading out sprints. In my view, he could have achieved even more.”
Regarding Volpato and Monister: “Our time with them was shorter, but they always worked selflessly for the team, proving invaluable. We wish them all the best for their careers and personal goals.”
