At 34 years old, Fabio Felline has decided to call it quits. After 15 years in professional cycling, the Piedmontese talent, winner of the points classification at the 2016 Vuelta a España, is hanging up his bike.
A year ago, during his first retreat with Lidl Trek, he had confided that this would be a crucial season and, apparently, Fabio did not find the right motivation to continue his adventure in competitive sport, which began in 2010 under Mauro Gianetti at Footon Servetto. In his career, he defended the colors of Geox TMC, Androni, Trek, Astana to finish riding a Trek bike, a brand he might continue to be an ambassador for (like
rider Aleix Espargaró).
In recent seasons, he has not been able to perform at the levels expected of him. At
BlaBlaBike 365 days ago, he had anticipated that if he could not carve out a decisive role in the group, he would make this choice, without regrets. Fabio's decision was therefore well-considered, and next weekend he will officially close the curtain with his partner Nicoletta, little Edoardo, father-in-law Gianni Savio, and all the people who have been closest to him.
Sunday, December 22nd at the Motovelodromo "Fausto Coppi" in Torino from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, Fabio Felline will meet fans to celebrate together an important chapter of his life that is coming to an end and reveal what awaits him in the near future.
