The newly elected president, Florentine Luca Menichetti, 53 years old last November, a civil lawyer, was a former rider. As a beginner in U.C. S.Croce (3 victories), as a student in LMF Biokimica (7 victories in two years), while he won 5 successes in his second year as a junior with the Ader's jersey from Ponte a Egola.
From athlete to national race judge, then a member of the Sports Court of Appeal of the Cycling Federation, and finally a regional sports judge in Tuscany. The present societies were 124 for a total of 168 votes, or 60.60% of those entitled. Once elected, Menichetti thanked for the consensus obtained, emphasizing the intense work that awaits him together with his collaborators.
The two elected vice presidents were Sienese Gaia Passerini (vice president with 126 votes obtained) who was part of the Promotion Activities Commission of the Cycling Federation in the past four years, and the Pisan Federico Micheli who received 121 votes and was already a regional councilor in the last four years. For the vice presidency, Pistoiese Mauro Renzoni had also been a candidate, who obtained 57 votes. The four elected councilors (there were no other candidates) to complete Luca Menichetti's team, were Samuele Manfredi, the unfortunate former rider, talent and promise of cycling, victim of a serious road accident in 2018 that precluded his promising cycling career, who obtained 113 votes, the Pisan Massimo Fogli (112), the Pistoiese Andrea Diolaiuti (89) and the Grossetan Andrea Fefè (87). Finally, the two technical quota delegates (the quorum for athletes was not reached) who will take part in the national assembly in Fiumicino on January 19th were announced. They will be Roberto Moretti and Giuseppe Di Fresco with Fausto Dainelli as a substitute.
