The national champion from Ile Maurice, Kim Le Court, signed a historic victory by winning the Liege Bastogne Liege Femmes in a tight sprint. The AG Insurance - Soudal Team athlete, already a stage winner in the Giro Women, today beat the Dutch riders Puck Pieterse from Fenix-Deceuninck and Demi Vollering, with Kerbaol finishing fourth.
Starting at a relaxed pace, the race quickly became complicated for Lippert (Movistar), Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (Fenix-Deceuninck), and Silvia Persico (UAE ADQ), who were involved in a crash in the very first kilometers. While the German and the Dutch rider managed to chase back to the group, the Bergamo-born rider from the Emirates team was forced to withdraw when she was very close to the first Cote of the day.
At the twenty-eighth kilometer, after some timid breakaway attempts, the first action of the day was initiated by the French riders Victorie Guilman (Cofidis Women Team) and Constance Valentin (Winspace Orange Seal), along with Norwegian Tiril Jørgensen (Team Coop - Repsol). Behind this trio, Laura Molenaar (VolkerWessels) moved first, followed by Solbjørk Minke Anderson (Uno-X Mobility), Fariba Hashimi (CERATIZIT Pro Cycling Team), Danielle de Francesco (Arkéa - B&B Hotels Women), and Sylvie Swinkels (Roland). Around the fortieth kilometer of the race, the women in the lead had become eight.
FDJ Suez "sounded the charge" around the sixtieth kilometer of the race, and the advantage of the breakaway riders dropped significantly just as the race schedule presented three quick difficulties: Cote de Wanne, Stockeu, and Haute Levée. After completing these challenges, the breakaway was definitively over, and the peloton, driven by FDJ Suez and Lidl Trek, returned to a compact formation.
