At the conclusion of a spectacular 40-kilometer breakaway, Greta Marturano secured her first career victory by winning the second half-stage of the Vuelta a Extremadura. The Lombard rider from UAE Team ADQ defeated Norwegian Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset of Team Coop – Repsol, with whom she had escaped from the peloton midway through the race.
