Cycling as a tool for valorizing our regions and a privileged vehicle for relaunching territorial attractiveness, also from a sustainable development perspective. This is the premise that led the presidents of Unioncamere, Andrea Prete, and the Professional Cycling League, Roberto Pella, to sign today a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing a lasting collaboration.
In addition to conducting analyses and research on the economic-social and tourist-cultural impact that cycling sporting events, with particular reference to the Giro d'Italia and the Regions' Cup, produce at the territorial level, the agreement aims to implement bilateral or inter-regional informative, training, and promotional initiatives within the Giro d'Italia and Regions' Cup races, also aimed at enhancing the excellence production chains of the territories crossed, with particular attention to circuits and tourist itineraries developed around UNESCO sites; support the transfer of know-how and the dissemination of environmental sustainability and quality paths; and enhance the tools of accessibility and digitalization of territories through cycling.
"The sustainable development of our territories and their attractiveness is an objective that unites the world of Chambers of Commerce with the Professional Cycling League," emphasized Unioncamere president Andrea Prete. "This collaboration will help bring to public attention the many green economy best practices that exist today, valorizing the beauties of Italy and the excellences of Made in Italy locations."
"It is an honor," highlighted the president of the Professional Cycling League, Roberto Pella, "to be able to sign, after the Conference of Regions, this important protocol with Unioncamere because I believe that Unioncamere and the Regions are the perfect combination of a constructive institutional collaboration. This agreement can help and support territorial promotion during cycling races and, through the Chambers of Commerce, can give a strong boost to the relaunch of cycling, tourism, and local economies."
