
On Sunday, April 6th, the first under-23 race in Italy for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè will take place: the Piva Trophy. The race will start from Via Treviset in Col San Martino, and after 11.9 km, the riders will face the Guia climb before descending and beginning the circuit with the Combai ascent, to be repeated 7 times. At 45 km from the finish, the San Vigilio Wall will be added, 700 m at 10%. In the last lap, the Wall will be tackled twice, before and after Combai, with the finish in Via Treviset.
Five young riders will take part in the race: at the start, Varese native Filippo Turconi, protagonist of the breakaway at Milano-Sanremo, followed by two Colombians Martin Herreño and Santiago Cruz. The team is completed by Vicenza's Matteo Scalco and Luca Paletti. Directing the athletes from the team car will be sports director Mirko Rossato.
