Compared to previous years, the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne route, or more precisely Kortrijk-Brussels-Kuurne, has not changed much: 196.9 kilometers and it will likely end in a classic sprint. There will be some climbs, among the less known, along the route, just as the Pays des Collines or Land of Hills is little known. The start is in Kortrijk, near Kuurne, and although the first climb at the beginning has disappeared, a new one has been added shortly after to make the race a bit more current. For this reason, the route is slightly longer, approaching 200 kilometers, but the finale is exactly the same as last year.

Among the novelties are the Hainaut with Hameau des Papins (1,200 meters, average 6.6%, max. 16.2%), Le Bourliquet (1,300 meters, average 6.8%, max. 15.3%) and Mont Saint-Laurent (1,300 meters, average 7.8%, max. 17%) which, together with the subsequent final section with Hotond, the Côte de Trieu or the Knokteberg and Kluisberg, could decide the outcome of the race.

In total, thirteen climbs are planned along the route with the Tiegemberg being the first, after just 17.5 kilometers of racing. After an intermediate section, the cobbled climbs will quickly follow from the 70th kilometer of the race, with Bossenaarstraat, Berg Ten Houte and La Houppe.

The Beerbosstraat, five hundred meters long, is placed 34 kilometers from the finish and will be the last cobbled section. This will be the last real obstacle of the race, where someone might even attempt a move. Then, climbing the Sint-Denijs hill, the race continues at a sustained pace towards the finish. A 12.5-kilometer city circuit through Kortrijk and Harelbeke will follow. It is at this point that the sprinters' teams will try to position themselves for the finale, but it will be important to see what happened before: if the sprinters have been able to close the gaps, they will ultimately prevail and contest the victory at very high speed.
