The 2025 road cycling season is just around the corner, but it's also time to plan track activities. The President of Friends of the Track, Bruno Battistella, recently gathered the association's board by inviting representatives from local teams to illustrate the velodrome's program for the current solar year.
Many Friulian and Venetian societies were present, showing their support and recognition for the track movement. Activities for the Pordenone track will begin on March 10th with juniors and amateur categories; followed by cadets and juniors from March 26th, and young riders from the first days of May. First races are scheduled for April 30th, 2025.
Regarding the Pordenone 6 Days, this will remain scheduled in July with a possible earlier shift to be evaluated in the coming weeks; the return of stayers is not excluded, and national teams from New Zealand, Canada, and the USA have already sent pre-registrations for their athletes to participate in the 6 Days and UCI trials.
The Pordenone 6 Days remains the main event of the Ottavio Bottecchia Velodrome, and President Bruno Battistella provided attendees with some data from the previous edition: 440,000 social media contacts during July and almost 4.7 million TV viewers who watched the broadcasts on RaiSport and regional and UEC channels related to the event. Important numbers that provide a significant image return, although, as Battistella recalls, the Bottecchia stands were often sparsely populated during the race week.
The Friends of the Track are already at work to begin this new season and organize the 2025 edition of the 6 Days with the passion and professionalism that has distinguished them for years.
