With a final time of 4.13.111 (almost 2 seconds faster than their qualifying time of 4.15.036), the Italian women's quartet decisively beat Great Britain (4.15.674) and will compete in the gold final against Germany, which had previously convincingly defeated Switzerland in 4.15.515.
