The technical conference of Tuscan race judges at the Antica Tabaccaia Resort in Val d'Ascione in Terranuova Bracciolini, in memory and emotional remembrance of Antonio D'Alessandro, who was in the category for many years and passed away at the end of December. A long and intense applause concluded the brief video about him at the beginning of the conference after the remembrance by the outgoing Regional Commission President Sergio Sbrilli. A special award will be established in his name starting from 2025, as stated by the new Regional Commission President, Simone Lamanda from Pistoia, who will lead the commission in the four-year period with Linda Bottoni and Federica Occhini. At the conference were present Gianluca Crocetti, national Judges Commission president and Tuscany reference, national Cycling Federation vice president Saverio Metti and Tuscany Regional Committee vice president Federico Micheli, Arezzo Provincial Committee councilor Fabrizio Innocentini, Terranuova Bracciolini Festa del Perdono Committee president Mauro Bronzi, regional sports judge Franco Benesperi confirmed for the next four years, and Danilo Mugnaini, 100 years old and looking great, with 40 of those years spent in the judges category, honored and applauded standing by everyone. The conference opened with three reports (off-road, road and yellow card institution) illustrated by Gabriele Frulio, Marco D'Isep, Maurizio Cirigliano, Martina Chicca, Marco Malanima, Matteo Martorini, and the two UCI Elite Road Commissioners, Sofia Guarducci and Domenico Viggiano.
The meeting continued with the intervention of Francesco Zingoni, president of the Race Directors and Safety Regional Commission, and sports judge Franco Benesperi, who highlighted the understanding and excellent relationship with Tuscan judges. Then came the report on the 2024 season and the entire four-year period by outgoing Commission President Sergio Sbrilli, who subsequently presented and awarded the 10 young people who recently passed the regional judges exam. Precise explanations were provided to clarify some aspects by national judges president Crocetti, who strongly emphasized "the importance of dialogue and collaboration that must exist between the components operating in cycling, especially during races", and responded to those who consider the post-race "reports" unnecessary. "They are important and valuable, continue to send them calmly - Crocetti said - they help improve races and cycling". Taking the floor, the new Regional Commission President, Simone Lamanda, illustrated the future program with inter-provincial meetings, training courses, regional and national judge courses, and the establishment of the Antonio D'Alessandro award. The last two moments of the Technical Conference were the delivery of two recognitions (National and Regional Commission) to Giovanni Nencetti, who went off-duty at the end of 2024, awards to new judges, as well as to Domenico Viggiano and Sofia Guarducci who became UCI Elite Road National Commissioners, while the two special Memorial Angelo Pardini and Giancarlo Vichi awards were received by Marco D'Isep and Domenico Viggiano. The final act was lunch with a toast to the new season knocking at the door.
