She had already shown she was truly in form in the previous days, and today, in the final stage of the Tour Down Under 2025, Chloé Dygert confirmed it by winning at the Stirling finish line. The CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto rider put all her power on the pedals and decisively won the sprint, leaving behind Silke Smulders, Dutch rider from Liv AlUla Jayco, and the overall leader Noemi Rüegg who, after yesterday's victory and today's third place, wins the final victory in the Australian stage race with a 13" advantage over Silke Smulders and 37" over Mie Bjøndal Ottestad. Eleonora Ciabocco, sixteenth in the time classification, is the best Italian and also wins the white jersey for best young rider. The points classification and the climbers' classification were won by Noemi Rüegg and Alyssa Polites respectively, while UAE ADQ was crowned the best team.
The last act of the Tour Down Under was characterized by the breakaway promoted by the Australian vice-champion Ella Simpson. The 22-year-old athlete, now riding for the St Michel - Preference Home - Auber93 team, broke away from the peloton after thirty-five kilometers and gained a maximum advantage of over 2 minutes, managing to win the two intermediate sprints with bonifications at Heathfield before being caught when thirty-seven kilometers remained to the finish line.
After the pursuit of the breakaway rider, the group remained substantially compact, battling especially during the second mountain grand prix of the day, crucial for the climbers' classification, which saw Alyssa Polites (Australian National Team) prevail over Dominika Włodarczyk (UAE Team ADQ).
After the bell rang, in the last twenty kilometers of the race, attacks followed one another: the CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto created chaos first with an attack by Tiffany Cromwell and shortly after by launching Maike van der Duin in a breakaway. The 23-year-old Dutch rider gained about twenty seconds but nine kilometers from the finish line had to surrender to the returning peloton. Shortly after, taking advantage of a slightly uphill section, New Zealand champion Ella Wyllie attacked, but three kilometers from the conclusion, the Liv AlUla Jayco rider was also caught by the main peloton of about thirty riders. A moment later, Dygert's progression decided the race.
