The Little Tibet confirms itself as a great European cycling capital, preparing to host this year's traditional Granfondo Livigno Alè, one of the most anticipated events for Italian cycling enthusiasts. An event of significant historical importance, which returns to explore the unspoiled nature of Livigno, a magical place for cycling lovers, who among its immaculate mountains have dozens of options and an infinite combination of possibilities. From mountain bike to downhill, from the toughest passes to scenic trails suitable for the whole family: whatever the two-wheel need, Livigno is always able to satisfy it. Therefore, even in the heart of winter, it's never too early to start planning the next sporting trip, perhaps taking advantage of special offers that will allow, until April, to enjoy a reduced price to participate in the Granfondo Livigno Alè.
The race, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, falls within a period dense with novelties and opportunities for cycling enthusiasts. Regarding the Alè, registrations have been open since last December, with the price locked at €60.00 until April 30, a unique opportunity to secure one's bib number at extremely advantageous conditions, choosing between the two route options proposed to test one's qualities.
The Mediofondo route is 106 km with 2050 meters of elevation gain and includes departure from Livigno, climbing the Forcola and Bernina passes, followed by a descent into Engadina to Zernez, then climbing to Forno Pass, crossing the Munt La Schera tunnel and arriving at the Mottolino finish line, the exact same finale that made the queen stage of last year's Giro d'Italia iconic. The Granfondo route, on the other hand, is 166 km with 4100 meters of elevation gain extending the shorter route by adding the Umbrail Pass, Foscagno Pass, and Eira Pass. Routes of rare beauty, crossing the entire Alpine arc that crowns the locality, giving participants emotions destined to last over time.
Yet another confirmation of how cycling is deeply rooted in Livigno's identity: always a favorite destination for numerous champions and great teams, to complete the approach path to the most important seasonal events, thanks to altitude training. A locality that for years has been a partner of major stage races and the most iconic Classics of our country, and which recently was also the stage of the pink race, when Tadej Pogacar, right at Mottolino, wrote a page of Italian cycling history. A special climb that will be a protagonist, like all the scenic places of the locality, also of the Granfondo Livigno Alè.
