"A federation close to the territories, organized and attentive to sustainability", thus Daniela Isetti, candidate president of the Italian Cycling Federation, summarizes her idea of renewal that involves the creation of a "Service Federation". In the upcoming elections, which will determine who will lead the FCI for the next four years, Isetti presents a program with simple and clear lines that ranges from organizational themes to competitive and sports issues, passing through sustainable mobility and the promotion of bicycle use.
"The revision of the Statute and federal documents, with a view to simplification and bringing closer to local committees, must be carried out without delay", explains the candidate. "Moreover, we will need to enhance information and training at all levels, as well as presence in schools and sustainable mobility events: the promotion of bicycle use is one of the program's strengths". Attention is also given to young people and cycling schools, which are the functional and operational unit of the approach to cycling in the territory. "We must ensure that young people approach cycling, and to do this we must make this sport more attractive and engaging, with fun activities and targeted, attentive communication. The bicycle must be promoted not only as a sports instrument but also as a means of transportation for travel and territorial exploration".
From an operational point of view, the key word is programming, to provide more tools to teams and enhance championship organizations. To the existing commissions, which will be strengthened, Daniela Isetti also adds the National Athletes and Technicians Commissions: "They will be - she concludes - commissions with consultative tasks to intercept opinions and ideas. It will be a transparent, dialoguing, collaborative federation attentive to everyone's needs. Cycling today can aim to be relaunched, and the Federation can and must play a leading role".
