Vittoria Bussi has reconsidered. Vittoria Bussi hasn't hung up her bike. At 37-almost-38, Vittoria Bussi found vital energy in the bittersweet flavor of an unbeaten record, to try again, to measure herself within the perimeter of a velodrome and stay outside the perimeter of the comfort zone. Vittoria Bussi decided that depriving herself of her bike was too great a self-inflicted punishment and that a failure (a term to be handled with tweezers) is a hypothesis to be accepted in order to risk, an inspiration to embrace and not a generator of limits and fears.
After establishing "only" the Italian record in the 3 km event in Aguascalientes, Mexico (the same venue as her hour record in 2023) on September 15, the Roman cyclist and mathematician had announced her retirement. However, the Christmas period brought a great desire to try to beat the world record again. Moreover, over a "new" distance at the women's level, as it was equated to the men's pursuit in 2025: 4 kilometers.
To attempt this new assault on the world record in the 3 km track event, and perhaps one day try to further improve her current hour record, Vittoria has asked for the contribution of the community of enthusiasts: the fundraising is open at the following LINK
