Great performance by Matteo Fiorin in Slovenia. The Italian rider from MBHBank Colpaack Ballan CSB won the Elimination Race on the track at the International Grand Prix Novo Mesto. Fiorin, returning to success and full activity after the injury suffered in September in road races, prevailed by beating local rider Zak Erzen from Cycling Team Friuli Victorious and Austrian Tim Walfer.
Among the young successes, Carlo Ceccarello, Italian road champion from Asd Monselice, won with the first-year juniors ahead of Slovenian Tai Cebular Kidric and Andrea Pierobon from GS Cicli Fiorin, while among the second-year boys, Enrico Gobbato (Team Isonzo Ciclistica Pieris) triumphed over his teammates Mark Palamin and Alberto Famea.
Near victory for Nicole Navazio and Camilla Isorni, both from GS Cicli Fiorin, who finished in second position in the junior girls' match, beaten respectively by Kaja Adam and Amelia Baranova. On the podium also Isabel Di Sciuva, Scratch race winner, finishing third.
