ISOLMANT-PREMAC-VITTORIA. A GREAT 2024 CELEBRATED, 14 ATHLETES READY FOR THE NEW ADVENTURE

WOMEN | 18/12/2024 | 08:01
A festive weekend for the Isolmant - Premac - Vittoria team, which gathered at Antica Acetaia Mandrio of Anselmo Beneventi, to sum up the just-concluded competitive season and lay the groundwork for the 2025 season. At the convivial meeting, attended by some athletes and several staff members, Angelo Tonoli, owner of Premac, who has always been close to team manager Giovanni Fidanza's formation, was sure to be present.
In the 2024 season, the UCI Continental Team chaired by Nadia Baldi achieved several successes and flattering placements in some of the most important national and international cycling competitions, nurturing thirteen talented athletes, twelve of whom are Italian, who were able to challenge the best athletes of the UCI Women's World Tour in prestigious competitions such as the "Giro d'Italia Women", "Strade Bianche", and the "Trofeo Alfredo Binda - Comune di Cittiglio".
"The 2024 season was undoubtedly positive," emphasized Giovanni Fidanza - "it should be remembered that our 'mission' is to develop young Italian female cyclists, participating in all national and international competitions held in our country, interspersed with some trips abroad, to gain new experiences and perhaps discover new talents like Arianna Fidanza, Martina Fidanza, or Gaia Realini, who have already made the big leap into the UCI Women's World Tour. We achieved several successes and numerous brilliant placements with Friulian Asia Zontone and our reference sprinter Emanuela Zanetti. In the second part of the season, the 'veteran' Beatrice Rossato, after resolving the physical problems that compromised several competitions, returned to her levels, while Gaia Tormena and Sofia Arici, both specialists of 'fat wheels', had an excellent impact on road cycling. The season concluded with the conquest of a precious silver medal in the 'Italian Team Time Trial Championship', thanks to the outstanding performances of Sofia Arici, Valeria Curnis, Sara Pepoli, and Asia Zontone."
The twenty-three-year-old Friulian Asia Zontone was undoubtedly a major protagonist of the season. The athlete from Buja (UD), already Italian cyclocross champion, won a fantastic success in the overall final ranking of the "Giro delle Marche in Rosa", where she proved to be the strongest elite athlete in the inaugural time trial, finishing sixth in the second stage at Villa Musone di Loreto (AN) and tenth in the decisive race in Offida (AP). Zontone also finished fourth in the overall classification of the "Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa Internazionale UCI 2.2", where she won a bronze medal in the fourth stage, a fourth place in the first, seventh in the second, and eighth in the third. Notable is also the silver medal at the "Trofeo Città di Longarone" in the Belluno area, third place at the "Gran Premio Ciclisti Arcade", fourth at the "Trofeo Prealpi in Rosa" in Tarzo (TV), eighth in the third stage of the "Trofeo Ponente in Rosa Internazionale UCI 2.2", and ninth at the "Giornata Rosa in Friuli - Trofeo Comune di Buttrio - Medaglia d'Oro Lucio Mittone" in Buttrio (UD).
Twenty-four-year-old Emanuela Zanetti finally raised her arms to the sky, dominating the sprint of "Pasqualando", which took place on the Tuscan roads of Ponte a Egola di San Miniato (PI). The Brescia sprinter also collected four second places at the "Trofeo Fondazione Mario Gottardini - Coppa Fercam" in Bolzano, the "Trofeo Antonietto Rancilio Ladies" in Parabiago (MI), in the overall final ranking of the "Trofeo Tecam" in Olgiate Molgora (LC), and the "Giro della Provincia di Pordenone - Memorial Ligido Zilli Stella di Bronzo CONI" in Valvasone Arzene (PN). Zanetti also climbed to the third step of the podium at the "Gran Premio Città di Mirano", took fifth place at the "Giornata Rosa - Trofeo Latterie Inalpi - Trofeo Annibale Viterie" in Racconigi (CN), sixth in the "Cronoromanengo - Gran Premio BMG" in Romanengo (CR), seventh in the third stage of the "Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa Internazionale UCI 2.2", and ninth at the "Giornata Rosa - Memorial Chiara Pierobon" in Noventa di Piave (VE).
First exciting performances on the road for the absolute XCE (MTB Eliminator) champion Gaia Tormena. The twenty-two-year-old Valdostan, current XCE world champion, topped the overall final ranking of the "Trofeo Tecam" in Olgiate Molgora (LC), narrowly missed success at the "Trofeo Latterie Inalpi - Trofeo Annibale Viterie" in Racconigi (CN), climbed to the third step of the podium at the "Trofeo Smania Idee Casa - Memorial Favaretto Franco & Davide" in Martellago (VE), secured two fourth places at "Pasqualando" in San Miniato (PI) and the "Porto Sant'Elpidio Cycling Festival", eighth at the "Giro della Provincia di Pordenone - Memorial Ligido Zilli Stella di Bronzo CONI" in Valvasone Arzene (PN), and ninth at the "Trofeo Città di Longarone".
Twenty-eight-year-old Vicentina from Rosà, Beatrice Rossato celebrated seventh place in the first stage of the "Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa Internazionale UCI 2.2" and ninth position in the second fraction of the "Giro della Toscana - Memorial Michela Fanini Premondiale Internazionale UCI 2.2" in Segromigno in Piano (LU). Twenty-one-year-old Bergamasca from San Paolo d'Argon, Sofia Arici, instead, finished fifth in the "Cronoromanengo - Gran Premio BMG" in Romanengo (CR) and sixth at the "Trofeo Prealpi in Rosa" in Tarzo (TV), while Varesotta Sonia Rossetti and Bergamasca Marta Zanga respectively won fifth and sixth positions in the overall final ranking of the "Trofeo Tecam" in Olgiate Molgora (LC).
Applause, finally, for the nineteen-year-old Colombian Danna Valentina Casas, third classified in the prestigious "Vuelta del Porvenir - Tour Femenino" (Colombia), where she climbed on the podium in the second and third stages.
After archiving the 2024 competitive season, the Isolmant - Premac - Vittoria team is already ready to face the new year with fourteen fierce athletes: young, strong, and Italian. Alongside the confirmed athletes: Sofia Arici, Valeria Curnis, Sara Pepoli, Beatrice Rossato, Sonia Rossetti, Gaia Tormena, Emanuela Zanetti, Marta Zanga, and Asia Zontone, the Lombard formation will be able to count on the performances of twenty-three-year-old Federica Damiana Piergiovanni and twenty-one-year-old Emma Redaelli, both from the UAE Development Team, the twenty-one-year-old former Horizons Cycling Club team member Martina Silvestri, and the two neo-professionals Arianna Giordani and Greta Pighi, who in the just-concluded year proved to be two of the best juniors in the national cycling landscape.
"I am enthusiastic about facing another competitive season," emphasized team manager Giovanni Fidanza - "in this regard, I want to thank all our sponsors, precious commercial partners, technical collaborators, and in general everyone who supports us with such passion, seriousness, and commitment. The team has undoubtedly been strengthened, especially thanks to the addition of the two former UAE Development Team members Federica Damiana Piergiovanni and Emma Redaelli, who have already been able to accumulate a good dose of experience in some of the most prestigious competitions in the international cycling calendar. Next year will be a decisive season for Asia Zontone and Emanuela Zanetti, I expect good performances from the always positive Beatrice Rossato and further growth from Sara Pepoli. Gaia Tormena and Sofia Arici, on the other hand, will be able to further demonstrate their qualities by leveraging the experience accumulated in their first 'true' season on the road." The Bergamo-based team will restart in 2025 with the indispensable support of Tecnasfalti Isolmant and Premac, to which are added the now historic partners: Vittoria, Guerciotti, Eurotarget, Still Alluminio Serramenti, Antica Acetaia Mandrio, Copind, and Corna Impianti. Among other prestigious technical sponsors, how can we not remember: ROSTI, LAS, Sidi, Selle SMP, WalBike, Agressive, Andriolo, and Simonini.
