VELODROME IN SEGROMIGNO, FIRST OFFICIAL STEP: THE MUNICIPALITY OF CAPANNORI WRITES TO THE FEDERATION

First official step. The sports councilor of the Municipality of Capannori, Serena Frediani, has written a letter to the provincial committee of the Cycling Federation, chaired by Pierluigi Castellani, so that it activates with the National Federation to bring together that famous table with Tuscany Region and CONI and obtain the necessary resources (from 20 to 25 million euros), to build the velodrome in Segromigno, on the land made available by entrepreneur Ivano Fanini.
Yes, because the Municipality of Piazza Moro, on its own, does not have the possibility of having, as they say in jargon, the "lines" of funding for such a public work. After the site inspection on Fanini's land, an official strategy was therefore followed.
The letter is a starting point, it's the start to kick-start the engine. Time and patience will be needed. But in 2025, the famous table will be organized to bring together the Ministry of Sport, Tuscany Region, National and Regional Cycling Federations, CONI to verify if all these Entities can have the strength to find and access certain funding lines, almost certainly at the PNRR level.
The president of CONI Tuscany, Simone Cardullo, had already announced this and will be in Rome these days where he will discuss the matter with President Malagò. The only approved and covered velodrome for all races is the one in Montichiari, in the Province of Brescia. As has already been highlighted, a similar structure in Lucchesia would be a godsend.
The facility would become the reference point for all of Central Italy and also for the South, with Lucca being increasingly closer to Brescia for those arriving from the South. Fanini's proposal, among other things, easily overcomes the first problem, the first issue, relating to the land he will make available. Twenty thousand square meters of Ivano Fanini plus 125 thousand to be expropriated from agricultural land, with a road that goes around the fields: access is from Viale Europa, then another entrance from Via Bocchi. A work that would also serve other disciplines and for concerts and shows. In addition to the social function of training young people indoors and safely, away from road dangers.

in toscana ci sono piu' di una richiesta di velodromo , tutti mettono a disposizione i terreni ma nessuno trova un budget tra i 10 e i 30 milioni di euro che servono per fare un velodromo piu' o meno grande . Mi sembra solo un po' di pubblicita' sterile
