TORREVILLA BIKE, A YEAR OF MOUNTAIN BIKE SUCCESSES CELEBRATED
EVENTS | 02/12/2024 | 08:05 di Giorgia Monguzzi It's time for celebrations for Torrevilla Bike, an association based in Monticello Brianza in the province of Lecco, which for more than 35 years has been an absolute reference point in the off-road sector. The team, captained by Fabrizio Pirovano, has distinguished itself season after season thanks to the great results of the competitive team Ktm Protek Elettrosystem and numerous organized activities such as excursions and unique events. Last night, November 30th, at the Gabriele chalet in Piano Rancio, not far from the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo, athletes, sponsors, staff, members, and many friends gathered to celebrate a 2024 full of successes and satisfaction. "It's always special to get together at the end of the year to review the season. Torrevilla Bike is a big family composed of capable people who put passion into everything they do and are proud of it. Our competitive team is one of the strongest in the Italian landscape, and every year thanks to our athletes we achieve incredible results that we are deeply proud of. As an excursion group, we are one of the largest on the peninsula, with over 100 members sharing a passion for cycling, having fun and spending time together. Over the years, Torrevilla Bike's activities have expanded, with the competitive team, but also the entire section dedicated to younger riders with introductory MTB courses, a course reserved for women, and especially the Pedala Coi Lupi, our quintessential event that we are extremely proud of. The balance for 2024 is more than positive, but we have learned to treasure everything we have collected and move forward aiming for even greater objectives," said Fabrizio Pirovano and Luca Maggioni, respectively manager and president of Torrevilla Bike. In the packed room, the most significant moments of 2024 were retraced, thanking sponsors and celebrating the athletes who brought many satisfactions to the group. Regarding athletes, the Ktm Protek Elettrosystem was almost complete, alongside staff, mechanics, and sports directors, with many of the young riders who this season collected a total of 16 victories. In 2024, those raising their arms to the sky were Giorgia Marchet, Andreas Vittone, Alessio Agostinelli, Gioele Bertolini, Fabio Bassignana, Marco Betteo, and Ettore Fabbro. The numbers are impressive because they speak of a total of 36 races contested worldwide with 49 podiums and 3 leader jerseys in the general classification of the Italian Internationals and the Italia Bike Cup. At the end of the year, Marco Betteo (Under 23), Alessio Agostinelli, and Andreas Vittone (Elite) will leave the team, but with people leaving, new additions are already ready. The festive evening was also the occasion to present the new arrivals in the Ktm Protek Elettrosystem for 2025: the Friulian Lucrezia Braida, Emanuele Bocchio Vega (Italian Under 23 champion in 2023), Matteo Siffredi (in previous years Italian champion among juniors and cadets) and the current Italian junior champion Giulio Peruzzo. The just-concluded season recorded great numbers not only for competitive activity but especially for excursions, the true beating heart of Torrevilla Bike. In 2024, members were well over 100, many enthusiasts followed the guides on group rides not only in Lombardy but also in the Dolomites and threw themselves into the novelty of gravel routes. Regarding events, the Pedala Coi Lupi once again broke every record; the evocative night ride in Monza Park registered over a thousand participants and brought children and adults to experience an incredible adventure. At the pleasant evening, in addition to athletes, sponsors, and supporters, Stefano Pedrinazzi, president of the Lombardy Regional Committee, Alessandro Bonacina, president of the Lecco Provincial Committee, and the national team coach Mirko Celestino were present, who congratulated the young riders and the precious work of the entire team. Although 2024 is not yet over, Torrevilla Bike is already planning 2025 with many objectives and also many novelties that we can't wait to discover.
