FEDERAL ELECTIONS. ANCONA, PRESIDENT FEDERICO BASTIANELLI CONFIRMED
POLITICS | 30/11/2024 | 07:55 Time for assessments for the FCI Ancona provincial committee between past, present and future with the awards for provincial cycling activities and the renewal of management positions for the 2025-2028 Olympic four-year period. Hosted in the council hall of the municipality of Ostra, the ceremony opened with provincial president Federico Bastianelli who wanted to thank the provincial council for the work done during the 2020-2024 four-year period, marking growth after overcoming the critical issues of the pandemic. Bringing greetings were Federica Fanesi, mayor of Ostra, together with Enrico Picchio (CONI Ancona provincial delegate), Lino Secchi (president of the FCI Marche regional committee), Massimo Romanelli and Marco Marinuk (vice presidents of Federciclismo Marche) who praised the Ancona provincial cycling movement after reaching the top with student Tommaso Cingolani (Italian time trial champion, Italian and European cyclocross champion) and the quartet from Zero24 Cycling Team composed of Edoardo Fiorini, Lorenzo Iaconeta, Andrea Gabriele Alessiani and Teo Lancioni, architects of the victory in the Italian team time trial championships among students. Ostra also received the highest recognition as a certified Bike Hospitality municipality, a project that promotes bicycle use and sustainable mobility (1.36% of the Ancona province population but 18% of FCI registered members in the province). The town of Ostra has two cycling societies affiliated with Federciclismo with a total of 265 registered members and moreover the cycling offer starts at the age of 4 with the cycling school, continues with the youngest categories, proceeds with beginners and ends with amateur categories. An added value are the races organized in the territory for beginner, student and junior categories (including the prestigious Memorial Diego Schiaroli). Subsequently, various individual awards were presented for provincial champions Riccardo Barbini of Zero24 Cycling Team (first-year beginners), Giulio Vitali of Team Cingolani (second-year beginners), Edoardo Fiorini of Zero24 Cycling Team (students) and Luca Spendolini of Zero24 Cycling Team (juniors). Special awards for Alberto Puerini of Zero24 Cycling Team (sports director of the year), Gianmarco Garofoli (professional with Astana Qazaqstan Team and in 2025 with the new jersey of Soudal-Quick Step), Filippo Burattini (youngest cyclist in the entire province of Ancona, born in 2020 and registered with the AC Petruio cycling school) and Fausto Pasquini (oldest registered member in the province, born in 1933). Among the societies were Team Cingolani (for the highest number of registered members this season, 194 in all categories between competitive and amateur), Trecastelli Polisportiva (for the highest number of registered members among the 2024 newcomers) and Pedale Chiaravallese (for the prestige brought to the cycling movement with the conquest of two Italian titles in the student category) and for the highest number of registered members in the youth sector in 2024). At the end of the ceremony, the electoral assembly for the 2025-2028 four-year period took place with the confirmation of Federico Bastianelli as head of the provincial committee. Elected as councilors were Valentina Bastianelli, Alessandro Santoni, Matteo Lucchetti and the newcomer Alessandro Animali.
