New forces for Arkea B&B Hotels: the Breton team is bringing Victor Guernalec to the professional level, one of the best French amateur cyclists of the season.
Victor, what does this transition mean to you?
"It's a dream come true, especially because I come from Brittany: signing with a team from my region and, moreover, reaching the UCI World Tour level is truly something very powerful. My brother, Thibault, has been a professional in this team since 2018, and I personally have been following Emmanuel Hubert's team since 2010. I've seen this formation evolve over the years, and when I was younger, I was even part of the team's youth system."
What are your ambitions for 2025?
"To make the team shine, in order to achieve as many victories as possible together. And if I have opportunities, I'll try to make the most of them. I want to discover the professional level and the most beautiful UCI World Tour races".
How do you feel about racing with your brother, Thibault?
"It's another dream come true, being able to race with my brother Thibault, especially because it hasn't happened so many times during our career. Since we'll be both brothers and colleagues, our relationship will necessarily be special, but I can't wait to experience this type of emotion. I'll find Louis Rouland in the team, who is my training partner in Aix-les-Bains, as well as Ewen Costiou and Mathis Le Berre, with whom I raced in the amateur ranks".
