Once again this year, the combination of cyclocross and the village of Barbara worked wonderfully with the staging of the Memorial Americo Severini, paired with the Adriatico Cross Tour and valid for the assignment of the FCI Marche Regional and FCI Ancona Provincial Titles.
With over 200 riders from all of Marche and neighboring regions, the massive participation rewarded the organizational efforts of Asd Energia Barbara together with Gruppo Sportivo Pianello and the municipal administration of Barbara, in the name of the most illustrious citizen Americo Severini, nicknamed the "barbarino", three-time Italian champion with four world championship podiums to his credit between the fifties and sixties.
All races ran smoothly on a fairly challenging course with the greatest difficulties represented by ramps, ups and downs, and technical sections, among the streets of the town of Barbara, also known for its Living Nativity Scene.
The debut with the European Champion jersey of Tommaso Cingolani, just a stone's throw from home (Pianello d'Ostra), was the significant moment of the Memorial Americo Severini, which, in its fourth edition, is beginning to become a consolidated reality of Marche cyclocross, attracting a large number of specialists in this autumn-winter two-wheel discipline.
Among the competitors, those achieving the best performances were Alessio Biancini (Gruppo Sportivo Pianello), Luca Niccacci (Foligno Cycling Team), Luca Drudi (Velo Club Cattolica), Flavio Mattoscio (Velo Club Cattolica) and Andrea Beltutti (Mondobici) among the G6 men, Carlotta Cecchini (Velo Club Cattolica), Ginevra Spitoni (Tormatic Pedale Settempedano) and Sylvia Battaglieri (Scuola di Ciclismo Prati di Tivo) among the G6 women, Alessandro Pazzaglini (Gruppo Sportivo Pianello), Omar Berlini (Velo Club Cattolica), Andrea Posata (Amici della Bici Junior), Tommaso Rossi (US Forti e Liberi – Zanetti Cicli) and Gabriele Mazza (Velo Club Cattolica) among the second-year novice men, Carlotta Lunghi (Alè Cycling Team), Leire Storani Ruiz Navarro (Recanati Bike Team), Vittoria Cardinali (DMT Racing Team by Marconi) and Melissa Maia Boga (Bicifestival) among the second-year novice women, Tommaso Cingolani (Team Cingolani), Filippo Cingolani (Team Cingolani), Andrea Gabriele Alessiani (Zero24 Cycling Team), Filippo Cocci (Villa Sant'Antonio-Cicli Cocci) and Vittorio Longari (UC Città di Castello), among the junior men, Greta Masini (Alè Cycling Team), Stella Forti (Team Cingolani), Olimpia Adamo (FD Steel), Asia Vanuzzo (Bicifestival) and Viola Muccioli (Bicifestival) among the junior women, Nicolò Grini (CX Devo Academy), Filippo Modesti (Bici Adventure Team), Gianfilippo Spogli (Team Cingolani), Edoardo Fabbri (Bike Therapy Asd) and Diego Tinti (Sidermec Vitali) among the junior men, Samuele Scappini (Team Cingolani), Lorenzo Cionna (Passatempo Cycling Team), Michele Carubini (Team Cingolani), Teodoro Torresi (Bici Adventure Team) and Giovanni Fanton (Costruzioni e Ambiente MG K Vis) among the open men, Nefelly Mangiaterra (Team Cingolani), Myrtò Mangiaterra (Team Cingolani), Alice Pascucci (Trinx Factory Team), Giulia Cozzari (Team Cingolani) and Agnese Calcabrini (Recanati Bike Team) among the open women.
Category primacy in the amateur field for Jessica Pellizzaro (Team Cingolani) among the master women, Diego Montanari (Valle del Conca) among the elite sports, Antonio Macculi (Team Cingolani) among master 1, Pier Filippo Bertuzzo (X-Project Asd) among master 2, Claudio Moronci (Team Cingolani) among master 3, Fabrizio Iaconi (Bike Racing Team) among master 4, Alessandro Diletti (Team Cingolani) among master 5, Paolo Sorichetti (Passatempo Cycling Team) among master 6, Alessio Olivi (Team Cingolani) among master 7 and Franco Di Vita (Bike Therapy Asd) among master 8.
"We had an excellent turnout of participants, and this repays all the efforts we have sustained as a municipal administration, along with Asd Energia Barbara, Gruppo Sportivo Pianello, and Pro Loco, who form a unified organizational entity. The Memorial Americo Severini is beginning to stand on its own and gradually grow to high levels. This year, we were honored to have Tommaso Cingolani at the start, making his debut with the European Champion jersey, and we wish him the best because he is the future champion of Marche cycling," said the newly elected mayor of Barbara, Massimo Chiù, present during the race and awards ceremony along with Riccardo Pasqualini (former mayor of Barbara), Livio Severini (Americo Severini's nephew), Lino Secchi (president of the FCI Marche regional committee), Massimo Romanelli and Marco Marinuk (FCI Marche vice presidents), Emanuele Serrani (FCI Marche off-road sector manager), Federico Bastianelli (president of the FCI Ancona provincial committee), Alessandro Santoni and Alessandro Animali (FCI Ancona provincial committee councilors).
